History

WIKUS-Sägenfabrik was founded by Wilhelm Hubert Kullmann on October 1, 1958, in Germany, shortly before his 30th birthday. Amidst Germany's growing economy, brothers Wilhelm and Josef Kullmann, Mr. Bätzing and one apprentice began manufacturing band saw blades in the premises of a former horse stable. From the very beginning they emphasized quality, which quickly propelled the company forward. In 1974, a fundamental decision was made to focus on the then-revolutionary technology of bimetal band saw blades and almost 20 years later, WIKUS once again set new standards with the FUTURA geometry for carbide band saw blades.

Innovation

Bold decisions and a constant drive for improvement have made WIKUS a leader in innovation. Our development engineers are constantly working to improve products, production processes and control mechanisms, which is repeatedly confirmed by ISO 9001 and ISO 50001 certifications. WIKUS was the first manufacturer of band saw blades to obtain these certifications.

The latest innovation is a globally unique "inline" production process that delivers higher efficiency and better quality. This innovative approach has also been recognized for its uniqueness.

Our production processes are environmentally friendly and we optimize our consumption of raw materials, water and energy. These efforts have earned us a bronze medal from EcoVadis.
